Description

Sheep Without a Shepherd (Chinese: 误杀; pinyin: Wù Shā; lit. 'Manslaughter') is a 2019 Chinese crime thriller film directed by Sam Quah and produced by Chen Sicheng. It is an official remake of the 2013 Indian Malayalam-language film Drishyam. The film stars Xiao Yang, Tan Zhuo, and Joan Chen. Sheep Without a Shepherd was released in China on 13 December 2019 in conventional and IMAX formats. It became the 9th highest-grossing Chinese film in 2019, grossing US$199 million. Film-loving IT provider LI Weijie (Yang Xiao) had built a quiet life for his family in northern Thailand-until his teenage daughter (Audrey Hui) accidentally killed the summer camp fling who'd been sexually blackmailing her. The devoted father tapped his detective-flick erudition to craft the perfect alibi... but the dead boy's mother (Joan Chen)-who's also the local police chief-won't be so easily mollified.
